Amidst the rush of urban life, Afternoon Tea at the Mary Cassatt Tea Room offers an intimate daily escape and the continuance of the age-old tradition of afternoon tea, Philadelphia-style. With beautifully prepared leaf teas at its heart, this Philadelphia tea room celebrates the traditions of the great tea cultures, adding a dash of local flavor and some exquisitely re-imagined elements. The tea selection spans the world, from tisanes of local herbs and flowers to grand black and green teas of Asia. As an accompaniment, enjoy a selection of delightfully inspired and perfectly delicate sweets and savories with a view to seasonal ingredients and pairings with the wonderful teas served at The Rittenhouse's acclaimed tea room, Philadelphia’s best.
Tea Time seatings are: 12:30pm, 1:00pm, 3:00pm, and 3:30pm every Thursday - Sunday. Reservations are required and open monthly on the 15th of the preceding month. For parties of 15 or more, please call 215.790.2533 or make a request through our Private Dining Inquiry Form.

We welcome larger groups (15 or more) and celebrations to have an unforgettable experience at Mary Cassatt Tea Room set with a backdrop of soaring ceilings, European style, and floor-to-ceiling windows boasting views of our beautiful courtyard. Guests will enjoy individually plated tea sandwiches and beautiful compotiers with assorted scones and sweets to share complemented by a selection of tea curated by our tea expert and poured tableside. Various sparkling, wines, signature cocktails, and mocktails are also available.
