Rittenhouse Square Holiday Tree Lighting
A crowd of over 500 joined the merry crowds in Rittenhouse Square for the annual Philadelphia holiday tree lighting ceremony on December 3rd. Dressed in over 5,000 lights, the 30-foot tree and Rittenhouse Square is now positively glowing with festiveness. Santa stopped by to help launch the dazzling tableau of light and color.
The Rittenhouse Hotel ensured pure warmth, of course—an expert culinary squad crafted delicious traditional holiday treats for enjoyment. Hotel guests and locals alike enjoyed toasty mugs of homemade hot chocolate with peppermint or marshmallows and mulled spiced cider. The air in Rittenhouse Square also carried the smell of roasted chestnuts, handed out by our doorman Frank.
Whether you are from out of town and staying in The Rittenhouse, or simply a local stopping by for some hot cider and holiday magic, The Rittenhouse provides all the accoutrement for enjoying Philadelphia’s kickoff to the holiday season.
