‘Oh, the Places You’ll Go’ in Philly: Celebrate National Book Month and Other Spring Events

Spring in Philadelphia welcomes a variety of positive activities for the mind and soul, from witnessing cherry blossoms bloom to giving back to those in need. In addition to all the fun things to do in March, The Rittenhouse is participating in a month-long book drive dedicated to providing education and reading materials to children in the area.

Take part in reenergizing the community during your next Philadelphia getaway to the Rittenhouse.  From March 2 to March 31, a collection box will be located in our lobby to accept new and gently used books for readers under 12 years old. In honor of Dr. Seuss’s birthday on March 2, the renowned author’s classics will also be available for sale in the lobby where proceeds from the sales will be donated to the campaign. Visiting our luxury Center City hotel without a book? Guests can add donations to their bill at checkout.

• The Subaru Cherry Blossom Festival of Greater Philadelphia – April 1 – 9, 2017

Bring family members, kids, and even dogs to this annual Philadelphia spring festival. This week-long event is the perfect opportunity to get outdoors to view the cherry blossoms and traditional and contemporary Japanese culture come together. On Sakura Sunday, go to Fairmount Park’s Horticulture Center, home to hundreds of blooming cherry trees, for karaoke, ceremonial drumming, a fashion show, and more.

• National Football League Draft Experience Fan Festival – April 27 – 29, 2017

Join the 200,000 fans expected to attend this year’s National Football League Draft Experience, an outdoor festival on Benjamin Franklin Parkway. For three days while the NFL drafts take place, fans can enjoy live music, food, and a variety of activities catered to celebrating this great sport. From a 100-yard zip line and taking pictures with the Vince Lombardi Trophy to witnessing firsthand media interviews with NFL superstars, fans will not want to miss this.
